Welcome to the County Court at Law Number Two Assault Family Violence Court website. The Assault Family Violence Court is a newly created docket in Montgomery County, created to service cases wherein a "family violence" allegation has been made. Presently all criminal County Courts at Law are participating in the AFV program.
The Prosecutors assigned to the AFV Court are Amanda Lanning and Brett Hobbs with the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office.
Dockets are held at 1:30 PM on Thursdays according to the following schedule:

Access to Defendant's Court Date
The Thursday docket will consist of all appearance types (e.g., arraignment, plea, and pre-trial). Plea offers must be finalized at the arraignment docket, as pursuant to statutory law the plea offer must be conveyed to the complainant before the plea may be accepted by the Court. THE PLEA ACCEPTANCE DEADLINE IS THE FIRST DOCKET FOLLOWING ARRAIGNMENT. ALL CASES WILL BE PLEAD AT THIS DOCKET OR SET FOR TRIAL. CASES SET TO THE TRIAL DOCKET WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PLEA.
A court approved Battering Intervention and Prevention Program (BIPP) will be required as a condition of probation for all defendants placed on probation. For information on local BIPP providers click here.
Please click here for the Court's standard discovery order. It is the responsibility of the defense attorney to present this order to the Court for signature. After execution by the Court it is the responsibility of the defense attorney to serve the order on the District Attorney's Office.
