The jurisdictional limit of the Justice Court and Small Claims Court is $10,000 exclusive of interest and court costs. Small Claims Court may award only monetary damages. The parties to suits must know the relevant law and how to proceed in the Court setting. The Clerk of the Court is prohibited by law from giving advice or legal instruction to either party.
