Montgomery County 9th District Court Honorable Judge Fred Edwards Presiding Judge 9th District Court 1993 to present The 9th District Court is a court of general jurisdiction handling civil, criminal and family matters. Civil Judge Edwards has presided over civil cases of Local, State, National and International significance. He has been a presenter for the American Conference Institute on mass torts on numerous occasions as well as for the Dixon Conference on E-Commerce, The National Center for the Judiciary for Court Technology, and the American Bar Association Annual Conference. Judge Edwards is a legal pioneer for implementing mandatory electronic filing on all civil cases. Criminal Judge Edwards has presided over hundreds of criminal trials involving capital murder, murder, robbery, sexual assault and illegal drug manufacture distribution and possession. He has never been reversed on any death penalty or non-death penalty capital murder cases. Continuing Legal Education Judge Edwards has been a presenter for numerous conferences for the State Bar Association, Harris County Bar Association, Montgomery County Bar Association and The Woodlands Bar Association. Judge Edwards and his staff have organized numerous Continuing Legal Education events on topics such as white collar crime, juvenile offenders, oil and gas, criminal and civil evidence, family law, trial tactics and legal ethics. These seminars' guest speakers included Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Commissioner on the Railroad Commission, prominent members of the State Bar, agents for the Federal Bureau of Investigation and members of the Attorney General's Office.
