Caseload Statistics

Every month, official reports regarding caseload statistics are provided by the Montgomery County District Clerk’s Office to the Office of Court Administration for the State of Texas.  These can be found on the Montgomery County Office of Court Administration's website.

According to the National Center for State Courts, a clearance rate is derived by dividing the outgoing caseload (entries of judgment, reopened dispositions, and cases placed on inactive status) by the incoming caseload (newly filed, reopened, and reactivated cases) and expressing the result as a percentage.  It is a basic measure of whether a court is keeping up with its incoming caseload.  Below is the clearance rate for the 418th District Court based upon this definition for the applicable time period(s).

01/01/17 - 12/31/17
2939 / 2996 = 98.10%

01/01/18 - 12/31/18
3216 / 3266 = 98.47%

01/01/19 - 12/31/19
3455 / 3205 = 107.80%

01/01/20 - 12/31/20
2717 / 2619 = 103.74%

01/01/21 - 12/31/21
3102 / 2977 = 95.97%

01/01/22 - 12/31/22
3250 / 3141 = 103.47%

01/01/23 - 12/31/23
3161 / 3214 = 98.35%

At times, adjustments to the monthly reports must be made by the Montgomery County District Clerk’s Office.  This is evident when the number of active cases pending at the end of one month do not equal the number of active cases pending at the first of the next month.  Taking these adjustments into consideration, below is the adjusted clearance rate for the 418th District Court for the applicable time period(s).

01/01/17 - 12/31/17
3291 / 2973 = 110.70%

01/01/18 - 12/31/18
3373 / 3269 = 103.18%

01/01/19 - 12/31/19
3533 / 3219 = 109.75%

01/01/20 - 12/31/20
2747 / 2652 = 103.58%

01/01/21 - 12/31/21
3117 / 3005 = 96.41%
