Food Manager Certification



Montgomery County offers a certification course every month. It is a requirement for every food establishment to have a certified food manager. The purpose of the class is to train employees proper food handling practices and familiarize them with the rules and regulations of the Texas Food Establishment Rules and Regulations (TFER).

The food manager course is eight hours. You must complete the course prior to taking the exam. You must pass with a grade of 70 or better in order to receive your certificate, valid for 5 years.

YOU MUST SIGN UP FOR CLASS BEFORE ATTENDING THE CERTIFICATION CLASS.

You can either print the application and mail it to our office or come by the office and fill it out. All classes are held at the Lonestar Convention Center.

There will be an additional $25.00 fee to transfer any other state approved course to Montgomery County.

Fees
The 8 hour certification course is $50.00. All fees are non-refundable and must be paid within 3 days of the class date. However, classes fill up weeks in advance.

Payment
Payments can be paid by cash, check, money order or cashier’s check.
