We ask that you remember that counties in Texas, unlike incorporated cities, have VERY LIMITED powers and cannot exercise the same authority municipalities can through their ordinance making powers to force premises to be cleaned up to agreed upon community standards. We will, however, uses every tool we can to try to persuade offenders to remedy dangerous health conditions in our Community. To that end, we have established a COMPLAINT HOTLINE DEPARTMENT to take telephone complaints and assign inspectors (on a time available basis) to investigate.
