Job Description

Education, Experience and Skill Requirements

·         Must Hold current Peace Officer’s License

·         Training status with TCLEOSE must be current

·         Must be able to take and pass a physical agility test and pre-employment written test

·         Must be able to take and pass a written patrol test covering the Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedures Traffic Code,  Health and Safety Code

·         Must be able to pass MCSO firearms qualification with an 80% or better

 

·         Ability to compose proper offense and data required reports:  possess neat and legible handwriting

·         Professional appearance, must be punctual and dependable

·         Represent the Sherriff’s Office at meetings and community events

·         Must be able to pass extensive MCSO background investigation and polygraph exam

Primary Duties

·         Conduct routine patrol duties

·         Respond to calls for service

·         Enforce criminal and traffic laws

·         Execution of criminal and traffic warrants

·         Assist other agencies as required or directed

·         Cooperate with any agency having investigative duties or powers

·         Work any shift as directed or as needed
