Job Description

Education, Experience and Skill Requirements

· Previous Law Enforcement or Telecommunicator experience preferred · Must pass the Telecommunicator Criti-call Exam, a Background Investigation and subject to a Polygraph Exam · Must type 25 WPM

· Must pass Montgomery County’s Clerical Aptitude Test · Applicant cannot have been convicted of a Class B offense or above · Applicant must have a high school diploma

Primary Duties

· Answers emergency telephone calls received from the Public	· Dispatches via a radio console, emergency and other calls requiring law enforcement response according to priority and availability of units.
· Question callers to determine the nature and location of the problem, extracts and records essential information and gives proper information to callers	· Must have the ability to actively listen to others for understanding of their needs and situations; ability to speak English with sufficient clarity to be understood by others on the telephone, radio or in person

Required Clerical Tests and Typing Score: Must type 25 WPM. Must pass both portions of the Two-Part Clerical Aptitude Test with a score of 70% or higher on each section. (Tests administered at WorkForce Solutions, Conroe). Call 936.539.7886 to schedule.
