FEMA Floodplain Maps (DFIRM) As part of the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) national Map Modernization program an effort has been made to update and convert all flood insurance rate maps into digital flood insurance rate maps. One of the products from this program is the following Preliminary Digital Flood Insurance Rate Maps (DFIRM) that was published on September 23, 2008. The proposed preliminary FEMA floodplain maps reflect changes to the current effective FEMA floodplain maps and show the areas within Montgomery County that are located in the floodplain. Please note that these maps are not the official floodplain boundaries and will go through a series of public comment. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact the Montgomery County Engineering office at: (936) 539-7833. |
