The Office of Indigent Defense oversees the administrative operation of the seven district courts and five county courts at law of Montgomery County, and administers the Texas Fair Defense Act under rules adopted by these courts.
Beginning Monday, June 1, 2020, the Office of Court Administration and Office of Indigent Defense will resume office operations but will continue to ask for appointments due to COVID-19 pandemic.
We will maintain communications via phone and email, during the hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00PM. If anyone is requesting a court appointed attorney, they must call the Office of Indignet Defense at 936-538-8173 to schedule their appointment. We will have office personnel available to conduct interviews by appointment.
Our priority is the health and safety of the individuals and families in our community as well as the team in our office that is dedicated to serving the public. Thank you for your consideration and patience during this unprecedented situation.
