Montgomery County Library System
The Magnolia Branch Library was originally opened in 1985 in the Southwest County Annex. Several years later, it became possible to build a separate, permanent location for the branch. It was renamed to honor former Montgomery County Commissioner Malcolm Purvis, a great supporter of reading and education. The new location opened in 1997 and was expanded in 2010. Today, the branch serves more than 25,000 cardholders.
