Constable Gene DeForest has been in Law Enforcement for over 40 years and serving over 30 years right here in Montgomery County. Working with the Conroe Police Department for 18 years then ran for the Precinct 2 Constables Office in 2000 and was elected taking office January 1st, 2001. Constable Gene DeForest built the Constable’s office on four basic principles: Professionalism, Pride, Honesty and Integrity. The Precinct 2 Constable’s Office is the main hub for civil process here in Montgomery County and proudly serves the community. Constable DeForest has a reserve unit along with a Mounted Posse division, which are all volunteers. Constable DeForest is proud and honored to serve the people of Montgomery County and of Precinct 2
Married to his wife for 41 years, with a daughter and two grand-children. Constable DeForest is also a veteran having served in the U.S.M.C. He is also very active in the community and is a member of several organizations.
Life member of The 100 Club. Life member of The Montgomery County Fair Association. Life Member of The Conroe Police Officer’s Association. Member of the MCLEA, Conroe Noon Lion’s Club, Chamber of Commerce, Advisory board member for the Montgomery County Fair and Rodeo (13th year). Served 10 years on the Montgomery County Youth Services Board. Member of the J.P. and Constable’s Association, member of the NRA and a member of the Republican Party.

Constable DeForest holds a Master Peace Officers Certificate, with over 3000 hours of education. He also obtained 18 hours of College in Law Enforcement at Del Mar College. Graduate of the Constable’s Leadership College. Has received two department commendations working with the Conroe Police Department along with Officer of the Year and Detective of the Year awards. September 3rd, 2001 Constable DeForest was presented with the Distinguished Service to Law Enforcement Award by the International Police Association Region 13 of the United States Section.
